NOTE: FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND NOT USING THE PROVIDED HARDWARE

MAY DAMAGE THE INTAKE TUBE, THROTTLE BODY AND ENGINE.

1. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the negative

battery cable.

NOTE: Disconnecting the negative battery

cable erases pre-programmed electronic

memories. Write down all memory settings

before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

Some radios will require an anti-theft code to

be entered after the battery is reconnected. The

anti-theft code is typically supplied with your

owner’s manual. In the event your vehicles’

anti-theft code cannot be recovered, contact an

authorized dealership to obtain your vehicles

anti-theft code.

2. Disconnect the mass air sensor electrical

connection and then unhook the wiring harness

clips from the air box.

3. Remove three bolts which secure the engine

cover and then remove the engine cover.

4. Remove the two bolts that secure the fresh air

inlet assembly.

5. Remove the fresh air inlet assembly from the air

box and radiator core support.

6. Release crank case vent hose spring clamp and

then disconnect the crank case vent hose from the

intake tube.

7. Loosen the hose clamp which secures the

intake hose to the throttle body and remove the air

box mounting bolt.

NOTE: The mounting bolt is located next to the

strut tower towards the bottom of the air box.

8. Remove the air box assembly from the vehicle.

NOTE: K&N Engineering, Inc., recommends that

customers do not discard factory air intake.

9. Remove the two rubber air box mounting

grommets shown.

Continued INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 10. Install the 1.0” high rubber mounted stud onto the front air box mounting location using the provided hardware. 11. Install the ½” high rubber mounted stud onto the rear air box mounting location using the provided hardware. 12. Remove the lower-front throttle body mounting bolt. NOTE: This bolt will be reused in the next step. 13. Install the tube mounting bracket (070091) onto the throttle body using the bolt removed in the previous step. 14.

Continued INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 28. This K&N® high flow intake system has been designed to be used in two different configurations. In the case of inclement weather, the cold air tube can be removed and the air filter can be clamped onto the intake tube located in the engine compartment to avoid the possibility of ingesting water into the engine. NOTE: If you have any concerns, return the vehicle to stock using the factory equipment. 25.
