RADIO Search for your favorite program (PTY Search) “ST” lights up when receiving an FM stereo broadcast with sufficient signal strength. SiriusXM® Radio (for KD-AR959BS / KD-R85MBS) Preparation: 1 Connect the optional SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner (commercially available). Antenna Expansion port on the rear panel SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner 2 Activate the subscription through www.siriusxm.com/activatenow or call 1-866-635-2349. The Radio ID is required to activate the SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner.
SiriusXM® Radio Smart Favorites User preset channels 1 to 6 are initially assigned as the Smart Favorites channels. SiriusXM Vehicle Tuner automatically buffers the broadcast audio content of the Smart Favorites channels in the background. • Smart Favorite channel is available with SXV200 or later SiriusXM tuner models. • “ * ” appears at the last character of the channel name for the Smart Favorites channels. • This unit can store a maximum of six Smart Favorites channels.

TROUBLESHOOTING Symptom “CANNOT PLAY” flashes and/or connected device cannot be detected. Remedy Symptom • Check whether the connected device is compatible with this unit and ensure the files are in supported formats. ( 21) • Reattach the device. iHeartRadio • Check the connection between this unit and iPod/iPhone. • Detach and reset the iPod/iPhone using hard reset. “ADD ERROR” “SEARCH ERR” New station creation is unsuccessful. “CHK DEVICE” Check the Pandora application on your device.
TROUBLESHOOTING Bluetooth® Remedy No Bluetooth device is detected. • Search from the Bluetooth device again. • Reset the unit. ( 3) Pairing cannot be made. • Make sure you have entered the same PIN code to both the unit and Bluetooth device. • Delete pairing information from both the unit and the Bluetooth device, then perform pairing again. ( 13) “PAIRING FULL” appears. The number of registered devices has reached its limit. Retry after deleting an unnecessary device.
INSTALLATION / CONNECTION Warning • The unit can only be used with a 12 V DC power supply, negative ground. • Disconnect the battery’s negative terminal before wiring and mounting. • Do not connect Battery wire (yellow) and Ignition wire (red) to the car chassis or Ground wire (black) to prevent a short circuit. • Insulate unconnected wires with vinyl tape to prevent a short circuit. • Be sure to ground this unit to the car’s chassis again after installation.
