Unique DVD/VCD Operations (see pages 20 to 22)
Selecting the Sound Track:
Oil some DVD videos, you cannot change audio languages
wbile playing back.
Playing Back a Bonus Group:
• You cannot select a track ill the bonus group for Program
Play.
Special Picture Playback:
• During slow-motion playback, no sound will be
reproduced.
• While zoomed ill, the picture may look coarse.

Programming the Playing Orderiprogram Play:
• Wbile programming steps...
If you try to program a disc number on which the System
has detected no disc is loaded, " _ " appears on the TV
screen.
Your entry will be ignored if you have tried to program an
item number that does not exist on the disc (for example,
selecting track 14 on a disc that only bas 12 tracks). Such
entries are ignored.
When you enter the group number %r SVCD/VCD/CD
which is not in the current tray, the System will ignore these
entries during playback.
• You cannot use Program Play and Random Play for JPEG
discs.
• If you try to add a 100th track, "FULL" appears on the display.
• The program contents will be erased when...
- You unplug the AC power cord.
- You open the disc tray currently selected 0_gardless of the
play mode).
Playing at RandomiRandom Play:
• Random Play cannot be used on some DVD discs.

Operations Using the On-screen Bar:
• A-B Repeat:
A-B Repeat cannot be used on some DVDs.
For DVD Video, A-B Repeat is possible only within the
same title.
- For DVD Audio/SVCD/VCD/CD, A-B Repeat is
possible only within the same track.
Operations on the CONTROL Screen:
• For JPEG files playback...
It is recommended tbat you record a file at 640 x 480
resolution. (If a file bas been recorded at a resolution of
more than 640 x 480, it will take a long time to be
sbown.)
This System call play only baseline JPEG files*.
Progressive JPEG files* or lossless JPEG files* cannot
be played.
_ Baseline JPEG format: Used l_r digital cameras,
web, etc.
Progressive JPEG format: Used for web.
Lossless JPEG format: All old type and rarely used
nOW.
• This unit may not play back JPEG files properly wbicb are
recorded by the devices other tban digital still camera.
• During Slide-show playback, zoom cannot be operated.
Timer Operations (see pages 31 and 32)
Setting the Timer:
• Wben you select "CD" for the playback source, playback
starts from the beginning of the current disc when timer is
activated.
• When you unplug the AC power cord or if a power failure
occurs, the timer will be canceled. You need to set tbe
clock first, then the timer again.
• If you set DVD Video as the source, Daily Timer may not
work correctly.

LANGUAGE Set up Menu:
• When tile language you have selected for MENU
LANGUAGE, AUDIO LANGUAGE, or SUBTITLE is
not recorded on a disc, the original language is used as the
initial language.
PICTURE Set up MenuIMONITOR TYPE:
• Even if"4:3 PS" is selected, tile screen size may become
4:3 letter box with some DVD Videos. This depends on
how the discs are recorded.
• When you select "16:9" for a picture whose aspect ratio is
4:3, the picture slightly changes due to the process for
converting tile picture width.
AUDIO Set up MenuiDOWN MIX:
• This setting is not effective wben DTS multi-cbannel
software is played back.
OTHERS Set up MenuiON SCREEN GUIDE:
• The set up menu and on-screen bar will be displayed (and
recorded) even though tbis fimction is set to "OFF."
Subtitles and the information for zooming ill always appear
on the display regardless of this setting.
