1) Justrite Manufacturing

Company produces both Type I

(illus. 1 & 2) and Type II (illus. 3

& 4) Safety Cans for the safe storage

and dispensing of flammable and

combustible liquids. These Safety

Cans are not suitable for the

commercial transport of

flammable and combustible

liquids unless designated as

DOT/UN approved.

2) Justrite Metallic Safety Cans are

constructed of galvanized steel and are

coated with a durable powder coated

paint finish.

3) Only store those flammable & combustible fluids found to be

compatible with galvanized steel. Please consult your fluid supplier and

their MSDS sheets

4) Pictures 1 & 2 illustrate the proper method of filling and pouring from

Justrite’s Type I Metallic Safety Can.

5) Pictures 3 & 4 illustrate the proper method of filling and pouring from

Justrite’s Type II AccuFlow™ Metallic Safety Can.

6) In order to prevent static discharge when filling a Safety Can from

another vessel or pouring from a Safety Can into another vessel it is

important to make sure personnel, and both containers have the same

static potential. This can be accomplished by touching all three together

before opening the containers. Justrite recommends the use of bond

wires or ground wires when feasible.

7) The Screens found in our pour spouts are Flash Arresters; an

important safety feature that prevents flash back into the Safety Can. It is

removable for cleaning; always replace it before using the can. Without it

properly replaced a flash fire can enter the can and cause it to explode.

8) The Flammable Symbol to the right is displayed on

each Safety Can indicating the Hazard of the Safety

Cans Content.

9) The following warning message should be adhered to:

DANGER

EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE

VAPORS CAN EXPLODE

HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED

If swallowed, do not induce vomiting, call physician immediately

Keep out of reach of children

Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors

Do not siphon by mouth

Do not store in vehicle or living space

Store and use in well-ventilated area

Vapors can be ignited by a spark or flame source many feet away

Keep away from flame, pilot lights, stoves, heaters, electric

motors, and other sources of ignition

Keep container closed

10) Justrite Manufacturing Company LLC Safety Cans are backed by a

limited 10 year warranty.

11) The GS-mark confirms the compliance of the Equipment Safety Act.
