Drive Selection
*
Drive Selection is a function allowing the
driver to switch between normal mode and
SPORT mode using the Drive Selection
switch. SPORT mode gives you great fun
to drive with good throttle response when
driving on a winding road as well as on
freeways.
Using SPORT mode for long periods
of driving increases fuel consumption
because higher engine speeds are used.
Select SPORT mode or normal mode
appropriately.
SPORT Mode Indicator Light
The light is illuminated while in SPORT
mode.
NOTE
The indicator light ashes a few times to
indicate that the mode cannot be switched
to SPORT mode even if the drive select
switch is pressed under the following
conditions:
The vehicle is driven on a slippery
road surface such as an icy or snow-
bound road.
The cruise control is operating.
The vehicle is making a curve.
Drive Selection switch
The mode is switched between SPORT
mode and normal mode each time the
switch is pressed. The SPORT mode
indicator light in the instrument cluster is
illuminated while in SPORT mode.
NOTE
If the SET button of the cruise control
is pressed while in SPORT mode, the
mode returns to normal mode.
When the ignition is switched ON after
being switched off in SPORT mode, the
mode returns to normal mode.
When SPORT mode is selected, the
transaxle may automatically shift down
or the vehicle speed may accelerate
depending on the vehicle speed.
