Troubleshooting
NOTE:AutoTrachasbeentunedtoperformsuccessfully
inmostfieldconditionsusingavarietyof
implements.Forabnormalconditions,Advanced
Settingsallowtheoperatortofinetunesystemsfor
specificfieldconditionsandimplements.Adjusting
steeringsensitivityshouldbetriedbeforeusing
thestepsinthefollowingscenarios.
Checkandfixotherproblemsbeforetuning.Perform
necessarymechanicalchecksandcalibrationsthrough
associatedmachine.Ifthisstepisnotperformed,machine
faultsmayoccuroroperatorwastestimetuningasystem
thatcannotbetuned.
ExcessiveWheelMotion:OverallAutoTracPerformance
isacceptable,butwheelsquicklytwitchbackandforth.
AggressiveS-ingMotion:Continualbackandforth
motionisobservedbylookingoverfrontnoseofmachine.
Motionisobserved,butoff-trackerrorshownondisplay
(distanceawayfromA–Bline)isoftenrelativelysmall.
LazyS-ingMotion:PerformanceofAutoTracseems
sluggishwhentryingtostayonlineandslowlywanders
fromsidetoside.
LazyLineAcquisition:AutoTracappearssluggish
duringlineacquisition.Tractorremainsofftoonesideof
lineforalongtimebeforegettinglinedup.
AggressiveLineAcquisition:AutoTracovershootsline
andcontinuestoovercompensateduringacquisition.
Resultsinhighfrequency,tightS-ingpatternduring
acquisitions.
TrackingOutsideofCurve:AutoTracissluggishin
curvetrack,resultinginslow,wanderingS-ingaboutthe
desiredline.Thislineoftentrackstotheoutsideofthe
desiredpath.
TrackingInsideofaCurve:AutoTracexhibitsrapidand
highfrequencycorrectionsinCurveTrackMode,resulting
inatightS-ingpattern,ortrackingtotheinsideofthe
desiredpath.

1.Startwithfactorydefaultsettings.SteeringSensitivity
valuewillcorrelatetovalueonGuidanceView
Tap.Attempttouseavalueforthissettingthatis
likerunningconditions(70forconcrete,100most
conditions,and120forsoftground).Thisnumbermay
stillneedtobemodifiedbeyondsuggestedsettings.
2.WhileAutoTracisactiveinproblemconditions(such
asspeeds,ground,andtiresetup),increaseorreduce
LineSensitivityHeadingbyafactorof10.
3.IfchangeinLineSensitivityHeadingisineffective
ataddressingissue,resetLineSensitivityHeading
parameter.IncreaseorreduceHeadingLeadinsame
manneraspreviousstep.
4.Ifnoneofthepreviousstepswereeffective,reset
HeadingLeadandincreaseorreduceSteering
ResponseRateinasimilarfashiontotheprevious
steps.
CombiningSettings:Ifaboveproceduredoesnotgive
satisfactoryperformanceandonceoperatorbecomes
morecomfortablewithhowparameterschangeAutoTrac
performance,trydifferentcombinationsofparameters
whileAutoTracisactive.
