Meatballs with Tomato Sauce
Serves 2
For the tomato sauce
Ingredients
½ onion, cut into 3-4 pieces
1 clove garlic
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp tomato paste
Pinch chili flakes
1 bay leaf
1 sprig fresh thyme
500ml passata (tomato sauce)
Salt and pepper
Your favourite spaghetti or any dried long-stranded pasta
Grated parmesan cheese (optional).
1. Place the onion, garlic and olive oil into the Short Cup and attach the
Cross Blade.
2. Pulse until the ingredients are finely chopped.
3. Pour the mixture into a hot non-stick saucepan and fry for about 1 minute.
4. Add tomato paste, chilli flakes, bay leaf and thyme and stir for another
30 seconds.
5. Add the passata and bring to the boil.
6. Simmer the sauce for about 20-25 minutes.
7. Season with salt and pepper.
