5.3 OPERATOR MAINTENANCE

Accessing Hydraulic/Electrical Components In Base Frame

1. Using the platform control box, raise platform up an

inch or two off the rear wheel brake, set bar.

CAUTION

WHEN REMOVING THE BASE FRAME COVER FOR MAINTENANCE PURPOSES,

FIRST SWITCH MACHINE POWER OFF BY DEPRESSING THE EMERGENCY STOP

BUTTON LOCATED ON THE BASE OF THE MACHINE. USE APPROPRIATE

SAFETY/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT WHERE NECESSARY.

2. Lift the platform release latch on the left side of the

mast while swinging the platform forward.

3. Tilt the platform up by lifting from gate end, the gas

strut mounted on the left rear of the platform will

assist with platform movement.

4. When fully extended check that the catch mechanism

on the gas strut is set and platform is locked in posi-

tion before working beneath the platform.

5. On the base frame, unscrew the black retaining knobs

attaching the frame cover to the base frame, lift cover

off frame.

6. After maintenance is completed, reassemble frame

cover on the base frame in reverse order starting at

step 4 above. Release gas strut and lower platform.
