WHEN WORKING ON THE FUEL SYSTEM, MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO OPEN
FLAMES OR SPARKS IN THE AREA. DO NOT SMOKE WHEN WORKING ON THE
FUEL SYSTEM.
1. Unscrew the hexagonal nut (1).
2. Remove the fuel strainer cover (2).
3. Clean the fuel strainer with diesel fuel, replace if neces-
sary.
4. Place the seal (3) in position.
5. Install the fuel strainer cover (2) in position and tighten
the hexagonal screw (1).
6. Check for leaks.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Use a tie strap as shown below to secure the hood sup-
port when the hood is being removed.
3. Remove the bolts and clamps that secure the engine
hood assembly to the hood support.
4. Carefully lift the engine hood assembly away from the
machine.
NOTE: The engine hood assembly weighs approximately 84 lbs.
(38 kg).
5. Using an adequate lifting device, support the weight of
the hood support. Disconnect the gas springs and
remove the bolts and washers that secure the hood sup-
port to the hinges.
NOTE: The hood support weighs approximately 134 lbs. (61 kg).
