CHAPTER 3 NORMAL MODE AND USER MODE 
You can change between Normal and User Modes when the printer is operating. 
This section outlines the differences between these two modes and how to switch from one 
to the other. 
3.1 Normal Mode 
Normal mode: After start up, the printer goes into Normal Mode in which the printer can 
print cards. 
In this mode, after you press the ▲Key for 1 second, the LCD displays the unused ribbon 
and retransfer film indicated by a series of “*”marks. Each “*”represents 20% remaining: 
Ribbon  Empty[*****]Full 
RTF  Empty[*****]Full 
In this mode, after you press the ▼Key for 1 second, the LCD displays the temperature of 
the heater unit and print head: 
Heater Temp: 203
℃ 
Print head Temp: 38
℃ 
Normal Mode Message List: 
Initialize 
The printer undergoes  system diagnostic  and 
initialization. Cards  remaining  in   printer from 
a previous irregular session will be ejected. 
Heating 
The heater unit is warming up. 
Ready 
The  printer  is  awaiting  host  requests  or 
commands. 
Printing 
The printer is in a printing session. 
Power Save Mode 
The printer is in an energy saving state.
