7.2 Trainee Calls for Fire

The ‘Trainee Calls for Fire’ panel allows the Instructor to view the received requests from trainee’s

VBS Call for Fire panels and then using the Instructor Control Panel to manually enter a call for fire.

To open the panel, select Menubar  Fire mission  Trainee Calls for Fire.

In Preferences panel, there is an option which allows the Instructor to choose whether to process a

trainee request from trainee manually or automatically. To access this option go to, Menubar 

Tools  Preferences  VBS Terminal  NATO Trainee Calls For Fire’. When manual process is

selected, it displays all the requests from Third Transmission panel and the Fourth Transmission

panel on the Instructor’s Trainee Calls for Fire panel.

Once a request is received by the Trainee Calls for Fire panel, the “OVER” message is received by the

Radio Log. The instructor will then decide whether to "Send to ICP” or “Say Again”.
