Grid: The FO provides the grid coordinates of the target; the altitude of the target (in meters,
measured from sea level); and if the method of control is spotter (FO) adjust, direction.
Polar: The FO provides the OT direction to the target, the distance (in meters), and a vertical shift (in
meters).
Shift from a known point: The FO identifies the known point (target number) in the warning order
of the call for fire. He includes in the target location element the OT direction, the lateral and/or
range shift, and the vertical shift.
7.1.7.5 Target Description
This element gives a brief description of the target. The FO considers the items below when
formulating this element.
Type of Target. What the target is and what the target is doing (for example, troops digging in).
Size. Number of elements in the target or its physical dimensions (for example, 5 trucks or 400 x 200,
attitude 0700).
Degree of Protection. Provide detail about the protection for target

7.1.7.6 Danger Close
The term DANGER CLOSE is included in the call for fire when there are friendly troops or positions
within a prescribed distance of the target.
For the moment the user can specify the cardinal direction and the distance to the enemy troops
from the VBS3Fires application. There will be no functionality change for the fire mission depending
on the direction and distance provided by the user.
