28.3.1.4
28.3.1.5 There is a delay when AI is responding to a call-for-fire
1. The artificial intelligence controlling the Battery will insert delays to simulate Battery
operations when responding to a call-for-fire. You can customise these timings in the
‘Mission’ file. Open this file in the VBS3 editor, click on the appropriate Fires Battery object,
and enter desired timings.
28.4 Laser designation
28.4.1.1 When I laser designate a target and send the information, VBS3Fires does
not respond
2. Before designating a target, you must first ensure that the Battery is waiting for a laser
targeting transmission. You do this by sending the laser polar command through VBS3Fires.
3. If you have done this, ensure that the laser designator is turned on by clicking the left mouse
button. You should see a diamond appear in the sights.
4. If no diamond appears on the left mouse click, it is possible that your laser designator has no
batteries. Check the top left hand corner of the VBS3 screen. If it is red with a 0 in the
ammunition area, you will need to obtain a battery for the designator. This can be done
from the real time editor, the mission editor, or by scavenging the battery inside the VBS3
scenario.
