24.14 Placing other elements
24.14.1 Targets
Targets are placed using the VBS3 visual editor like any other unit would be placed. No special
identification as a target of interest is required.
24.14.2 Other units
All other units can be placed into VBS3 in the same way that they would be added in a normal VBS3
scenario. Triggers, waypoints and groups can also all be added as normal. The only requirement is
that none of the triggers affect the composition of the Battery Object and the guns/Gun that it is
linked to.
24.14.3 UAVs
When using VBS3Fires, UAVs are placed into VBS3 exactly the same way that they would be placed
in a standard VBS3 scenario. If the user intends to laser targets using a UAV, it must be ensured that
the unit that will perform the lasing has a control link to that UAV.
24.15 Adding new Batteries in real time
Upon going live and running a fire mission in simulation, new Batteries can be added, renamed and
deleted. Once any change is made, it needs to be synced in order to take effect and be added to the
VBS3Fires mission.
24.15.1 To add a Battery
During a live mission, on VBS3 go to the 2D Map view or the Real Time Editor view and add a new
Battery following the same procedures for adding a Battery. By right clicking on Batteries node, click
“Sync Battery Changes”. Upon completing the sync, the new Batteries would be available for all
functions.
