5 Introduction

VBS3Fires is a professional call-for-fire training system which combines the flexibility and stunning

visuals of VBS3 with a sophisticated training and simulation system. VBS3Fires allows the user to

construct a call-for-fire which is then processed by the system and actioned accordingly within VBS3.

The system simulates exterior and terminal ballistics to a high level of detail and supports a wide

array of munitions, fuse types and firing guns.

VBS3Fires uses visual displays; one to display the VBS3 virtual environment and one to display the

VBS3Fires graphical user interface.

5.1 Training Using VBS3Fires

VBS3Fires is designed to meet a variety of training applications and can be run in several

configurations. To facilitate this, every license of VBS3Fires can be run in one of three modes.

These are: Trainee mode, Instructor mode and Stand-alone mode.
