START ENGINE Ignition only: • A single press of the START STOP button will switch on the ignition. • A second press will switch off the ignition. Use the four-way switch 3 to adjust the position of the selected mirror.

Ensure passengers do not fully extend the restraints and inadvertently engage the ALR feature during normal use. Automatic Locking Reels (ALR) All passenger seat belts have ALR fitted for use with child seats or for securing large items. • Extend the belt to maximum length to enable the locking mechanism.

Manual gear changes Gearshift interlock The brake pedal must be depressed before the selector can be moved from the Park position. JJM 18 96 40 901:XF NAS 04/03/2008 10:02 Page 11 Driving JaguarDrive Control JaguarDrive Control gives the driver an opportunity to fine tune the driving characteristics of the vehicle. This is achieved by selecting from the following driving modes. Winter mode and Dynamic modes cannot be active simultaneously. Message center Winter mode Use in slippery conditions. When active, this mode selects 2nd gear for driving away, it moderates engine power output and modifies the gear change strategy.
JJM 18 96 40 901:XF NAS 04/03/2008 10:02 Page 12 Driving Cruise (speed) control and Adaptive Cruise control Dependent upon specification, your vehicle will be fitted with either the standard cruise control system or the Adaptive Cruise Control system (ACC). Both systems allow you to maintain a set speed until either cruise control is cancelled or the brake pedal is used, but ACC also allows you to maintain a gap between yourself and the vehicle ahead.

It provides limited detection of and warning of objects in the road ahead. 1. Press to activate. There are four sensitivity settings and the message center will confirm which setting is selected. The setting can be changed by using the GAP control 2 while ACC is not engaged.

See Overhead console, page 4. Rear view camera Is activated when R is selected. A wide-angle camera image appears on the touch screen to aid reversing. Parking aids are on stanby when the ignition is switched on.

For more information refer to the Owner’s Handbook. Setting a destination 1. From the navigation Menu screen, select Destination Entry. 2. Touch either Address or Postcode. 3. With Address selected, touch Town then use the on-screen keypad to enter address details.

From the Home menu you can also select areas within Audio, Climate, Phone and Navigation to make further personalised choices. Tire pressures are shown on a label attached to the left hand side door post. Fuel filler flap release The filler flap can only be opened when the vehicle is unlocked. Press the flap approximately 1 inch (25mm) from the left hand edge to release.
