3 INSTALLING AND TIGHTENING STOP LOCKNUTS
Objective: Install locknuts for check stops and thermal cartridge.
› Place thermal valve body on table with cold inlet on the right and hot inlet on the left.
› Install hot and cold check stop lock nut by placing over top of check stop and tighten to a snug fit
using a
13
⁄16" socket wrench and ratchet. Figure 3.1
› Install cartridge locknut by placing over top of thermal cartridge and tighten to a snug fit using 1¼"
socket wrench and ratchet. Figure 3.2
› Note: After tightening the locknut on thermal cartridge, verify that the cartridge did not turn
from the 12 o'clock position. Adjust as necessary. Figure 3.3
