3) Disengage Safety and move the bolt to the rear. Visually inspect the cham-
ber and barrel for obstructions. The chamber and barrel must be free of oil or
grease or obstructions.
4) If the rifle has the optional detachable magazine
feature engage safety after barrel and chamber in-
spection, insert loaded magazine into the magazine
well until the magazine release engages the maga-
zine (Fig 10).
5) If the rifle does not have the detachable maga-
zine insert a round into the breach area and then
close the bolt so as to move the round into the cham-
ber from the breach area. Lock bolt closed by rotat-
ing the bolt handle down once the round is in the
chamber....WARNING NEVER FORCE THE BOLT
CLOSED ON ANY RIFLE, IF THE BOLT WILL NOT
CLOSE EASILY, THEN UNLOAD AND INSPECT
CHAMBER AND ROUND FOR DEBREE OR DAM-
AGE.... once the bolt is closed and locked engage
the safety and do not disengage safety until you
are ready to fire. Whenever the rifle is loaded al-
ways keep rifle with safety fully engaged so as to
lock bolt and trigger and keep rifle pointed in a safe

6) If the gun has a detachable magazine, disen-
gage the safety and move bolt to the full rear posi-
tion. Next, move the bolt forward to strip a round
from the magazine and insert it into the chamber.
Once loaded, re-engage the safety and do not dis-
engage safety until you are ready to fire. Whenever
the rifle is loaded always keep rifle with safety fully
engaged, so as to lock bolt and trigger and keep
rifle pointed in a safe direction. Fig B (Safety disen-
