Setting Your Network Preferences
The settings configured in the Network tab are typically used by your
cellular operator for troubleshooting.
► To se t yo ur ne two rk p re fe re nc e s:
1 In the Settings screen, select the Ne two rk tab.
2 Edit one or more of the network settings, as required. The network
settings are described in Table 22.

Scans for available networks. This option is

The phone number of the messaging center to
be called to retrieve your voice mail (if
supported by your cellular carrier).
Edit SMSC
num b e r
The number of the messaging center for SMS
services.
Select Ed it and press Ente r to display the Edit
SMSC number screen. Insert/edit the number
and select Do ne .
G PRS
c onfig ura tio n
The GPRS settings, including APN,
authentication, user and password.
Select Ed it and press Ente r to display the GPRS
configuration screen. Configure the settings and
select Do ne .
G PRS sta tus The status of your GPRS connection
(Connected, Not connected, Connection
denied, Paused, or Not available).
