User Guide
Thank you for purchasing the Ivation® Propane Charcoal Lighter. This
User Guide is intended to provide you with guidelines to ensure that
operation of this product is safe and does not pose risk to the user. Any
use that does not conform to the guidelines described in this User Guide
may void the limited warranty.
Please read all directions before using the product and retain this guide
for reference. This product is intended for household use only. It is not
intended for commercial use.
This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty. Coverage is
subject to limits and exclusions. See warranty for details.

1. INTRODUCTION
WARNING! Please make sure you thoroughly read and understand these
safety precautions and instructions before using this product to avoid injury.
You need to understand the applications, limitations, and potential hazards
associated with this appliance. This appliance is not intended for use by
children; persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities; or
persons with lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction regarding use of this appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
Don’t ever operate this lighter if:
- You are subject to seizures, loss of consciousness, or fainting
- You have been drinking alcohol, using drugs, or taking prescription
medication that could aect your judgment or balance
- You have not read or do not understand the user guide
- You are not capable of safely operating this type of equipment
- You are overly tired or fatigued
Make sure to familiarize yourself with the appliance itself before using it.
Before using this appliance, check all the parts to make sure they function
properly, and make sure no components have been damaged.
Keep the lighter out of the reach of children. Do not allow children to
operate or handle this lighter.
Always keep away from heat or flame, and avoid prolonged exposure
to sunlight.
This product is not designed for industrial or trade applications. Do not
use, or attempt to use, the lighter for any purpose for which it is
not designed.
Make sure to keep children and other non-users of this equipment at a
safe distance from your work area.
Ensure your work area is well-ventilated.
Do not use this appliance around flammable materials or gases, as this
could create a fire or explosion hazard.
Do not use this device in the rain, or in wet/damp conditions.
Make sure to store this appliance in a safe, dry area to which children do
not have access.
Always make sure the propane canister to which you connect this lighter
conforms to the requirements on the rating label.
Never point the lighter tip toward your face, other people (or their faces),
animals, or any other flammable objects/persons. Please never attempt to
use this as a cigarette lighter.
Never point the lighter tip at naked flames or any other heated objects.
Do not smoke while using this appliance.
Never submerge the lighter in any kind of liquid, as this could result in
hazard or other personal injury.
Do not attach or detach the torch from the gas cylinder in an area where
accidentally released gas might be ignited by open flames.
Never attempt to modify the lighter construction and never use unapproved
fuel, or else it could result in fires, explosions, property damage, and/or
operator injury.
Don’t use a leaking, damaged, or malfunctioning lighter.
Treat this lighter as you would any fine tool or instrument. If it’s ever damaged,
don’t use it until you have ensured the problem is fixed.
Lighters improperly operated, maintained, or repaired are dangerous!
Improper use, service repair, or modification of the torch could result in
damage to the product, property damage, or personal injury to the operator.
When the gas cylinder is empty, dispose of it properly in a safe and approved
location. Do not throw the cylinder into a fire, puncture, or incinerate it.
It is illegal and dangerous to refill the propane gas tank on your own. Obtain a
new propane cylinder from an authorized retailer.
Do not inhale gas, fumes, vapor, or spray from the propane cylinder or lighter,
and avoid contact with skin and eyes. If inhaled, immediately move the
aected person to fresh air. For skin contact, flush with lots of water. In the
case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and then seek
medical advice.
Do not attempt tasks beyond the capability of this lighter. Similarly, do not
attempt tasks well beneath the capability of this lighter. Don’t use it to light a
candle. It’s a bad idea.
Never force the lighter into performing tasks for which it is not designed.
Ivation is not liable for damages resulting from misused lighters.
Don’t carry the lighter by the gas canister.
Make sure to remove the gas canister and allow the lighter to fully cool before
cleaning or doing any maintenance.
Make sure to use care when operating this lighter, as it can cause a fire. Its only
purpose in life is to start fires. Don’t point it at anything you prefer not to be
on fire.
Don’t hit things with the lighter, and try to refrain from dropping it. Make sure
not to scratch the plastic cover.
Use care when using this device in places where other flammable materials
are present. We recommend moving the flammable objects away from the
device that produces flames.
Do not use in an atmosphere that could be considered, “explosive” — not in
the way that family gatherings can be when politics is brought up, but where
the materials in the atmosphere could combust upon exposure to heat or
a spark.
Be aware that the heat projected from this device could be conducted to
nearby unseen combustible materials. Make sure they have been removed
from the area before using this device.
Always allow this device to fully cool before storing it.
Ensure that this unit is properly positioned when starting grill or fireplace fires.
Never leave this device unattended.
Do not allow the hot parts of the charcoal lighter to touch any other
flammable materials.
