Installation Procedure

To install the R300 option board in a SENTINEL meter, perform the
following step
s:
1 Prior to taken meter out of service, download all pertinent data from
the m
eter.
2 Remove power from meter.
3 To i
nstall the R300S2, remove the meter outer cover and inner cover
exposi
ng the circuit board As shown in Figure 1.

4 Connect the R300S2 ribbon cable connecter to
the meter as shown in
Figure 2. Press the connector into the built-in guide of the lower
housing and firmly slide it onto the register board connector until it
snaps in place.

5 Place the R300S2 inside of the meter as shown in Figure
3.
The R300S2 board will fit securely on the left and right posts.
Press back on the tab located in the center of the inner cover. Make
sure the R300S2 board is placed beneath the tab. Once this is done,
release the tab to hold the R300S2 board in place.
6 Close the meter.
Place the FCC label in a visible location on the
meter nameplate and install the meter cover.
The R300S2 is now installed.
You will now need to re-program your meter with these additional
feature
s to enable them.
