6 Requirements and Compliance
The CENTRON GPRS SmartMeter is compliant with all applicable Federal Communications Commission
(FCC) and Industry Canada (IC) requirements. The FCC and IC identification numbers for the CENTRON
GPRS SmartMeter are listed as follows:
FCC identifier: QHC-CENGPRS1
IC identifier: 4393B-CENGPRS1
This certification is granted to SmartSynch Inc.
The reference application registered under the above identifier is certified to be in accordance with the
following Rules and Regulations of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC):
“This device contains GSM 1800MHz function that is not operational in U.S. Territories. This
device is to be used only for mobile and fixed applications. The antenna(s) used for this
transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons
and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Users and installers must be provided with antenna installation instructions and transmitter
operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. Antennas used for this OEM module
must not exceed 7dBi gain (GSM 1900) and 1.4dBi (GSM 850) for mobile and fixed operating
configurations. This device is approved as a module to be installed in other devices. Each OEM
must obtain their own Certification for each device containing this module.”
In addition, the CENTRON GPRS SmartMeter fully complies with the TS 51.010 tests as adopted by the
PTCRB and defined in the NAPRD section 11.
