Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the iSimple®
Jamlink
CAR™. This product is designed to provide endless hours of listening pleasure from your factory
or aftermarket radio.
To
ensure optimal performance of the
Jamlink
CAR™ we recommend that you read this entire manual before beginning the
installation
of
this product. The Jam
link
CAR™ provides connectivity for iPod, iPhone
or
iPad
to
any audio system with RCA connections. The audio
from the attached device will pass through the cable into the radio's auxiliary audio input. Note: many factory radios
do
not come with
an
auxiliary input.

Precautions
PREVENTING
DAMAGE TO YOUR VEHICLE OR MEDIA
PLAYER
Installation
of
this product requires you to make wiring connections.
To
eliminate the risk of
an
electrical short, we recommend disconnecting the
vehicle's battery prior
to
installation. If you do not feel comfortable making these connections, we suggest you seek professional installation.
We
recommend that any audio source be disconnected from the cable when the vehicle is not in use.
Installation
1. Carefully remove the radio from the dash
of
the vehicle.
2. Using a voltmeter, identify a 12V+ wire and a ground wire location behind the radio.
3. Connect the
red
wire on the
Jamlink
CAR™
to
the 12V+ constant power wire behind the radio (or you can connect the
Jamlink
CAR™ red wire
to
a
switched accessory wire
to
provide iPod, iPhone, or iPad battery charging only when the vehicle is running).
4.
Connect the black wire on the Jam
link
CAR™
to
chassis ground. Depending on the vehicle this may be a wire,
or
the chassis
of
the radio.
5.
To
connect
to
the radio, plug the male RCA connector ends
of
the
Jamlink
CAR™ into the radio's audio input on the rear
of
the radio.
Many radios only have a 3.5mm input which will require
an
adapter.
6. Choose a convenient mounting location for your iPod, iPhone,
or
iPad, typically this is a glove box, center console
or
docking cradle.
7.
Run the Lightning cable
to
the desired mounting location. Use cauti
on
to not cut, pinch or crimp the cable during this step.
8. Securely install the cable
in
a location free from heat, humidity, moving parts,
or
sharp metal edges.
We
recommend securing the
Jamlink
CAR™
to
a suitable location using double sided tape, Velcro™ or zip-ties.
9. With the audio source and cables securely connected, reinstall the radio into
the
dash
of
the vehicle and begin enjoying the Jam
link
CAR ™.

Warranty
One Year Limited Warranty
The
quality controls used
in
the manufacture
of
this product will ensure your satisfaction. This warranty applies only
to
the
original purchaser
of
this product from an authorized iSimple®
dealer
. This warranty covers a;1y supplied
or
manufactured parts
of
this product that, upon inspection
by
iSimple® authorized personnel, is found
to
have failed in normal use due
to
defects in material
or
workmanship. This warranty does
not
apply
to installation expenses. Attempting
to
service
or
modify this unit, operating this unit under conditions
other
than the recommended voltage will
render this WARRANTY VOID.
Unless otherwise prescribed
by
law, iSimple® shall
not
be liable
for
any personal injury, property damage and
or
any
incidental
or
consequential
damages
of
any kind (including water damage) resulting from malfunctions, defects, misuse, improper installation
or
alteration
of
this product. All
parts
of
this iSimple® product are guaranteed
for
a period
of
1
year
as follows:
Within the first 12 months from date
of
purchase, subject
to
the
conditions above, iSimple® will repair
or
replace the product at
our
discretion,
if
it
is defective in material
or
workmanship providing it is returned
to
an Authorized iSimple® dealer, with PROOF OF PURCHASE from an authorized
iSimple® dealer.
