a Danish immigrant who invented the ﬁrst locking pliers in his blacksmith shop, and began selling them from the back of his car to

farmers and people in surrounding towns. He patented his new idea and called it VISE-GRIP

Originally established in 1898 in the South Yorkshire city of Shefﬁeld in the UK. The Record Tools Factory was swiftly able

to make a long lasting contribution to the worldwide reputation of the region for the manufacture of high quality steel and
