2. Introduction The PE-SOS2 pedometer is a precise instrument for the personal control of steps while walking or running. It offers additional functions that you can use, but do not have to if you do not want to. The PE-SOS2 is also equipped with a panic alarm with which you can attract the attention of passers-by quickly and effectively if this should be necessary. With the chip that is supplied with the device, you can also secure bags or a briefcase, making it easier to prevent theft or loss.
3. Wearing the pedometer properly The PE-SOS2 has a motion detector that fundamentally detects every movement, i.e. including your steps. As every person moves slightly different, we recommend wearing the PE-SOS2 as follows: - with the alarm pen pointing downwards - Fix securely to the belt of your trousers using the clip - Position on the belt: in the extension of the trouser fold, around halfway between the hip bone and the middle of the body. It is not possible to carry or wear it in other ways, e.g.
always consistent that is why there may be some deviations to the number of steps you have perhaps counted by yourself at one time. Don’t allow this to confuse you. A certain counting tolerance (+/- 10%) is normal and will often balance itself out over the day. What is important though: Even with the error, your own walking performance can still be monitored and documented.
4.1 The function step and time (STEP/TIME) In this mode, you can see the total number of steps measured since the last reset and the time (quartz watch). The steps displayed can be reset to zero manually in this display. For this purpose, press and hold the key ‘UP/CLR’ for approx. 3 seconds. The distance such as kcal and the DAYCAL (daily calorie counter) are thus also reset to zero at the same time. The pedometer can add and display up to 99,999 steps.
4.3 The function calories and odometer (KCAL/ODO) The kcal are calculated via your steps and your weight and displayed in 0000.0 kcal. Resetting to zero in the STEP/TIME mode (see Chapter 4.1). The totalised odometer (ODOMETER) cannot be deleted in normal operation. A resetting to zero is only done with a change in battery. None of the keys (apart from ‘MODE’) has a function in this mode. MODE : Continue in another function 4.
