Intended Use The Ironton Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet is ideal for most welding applications and designed to meet the most demanding welding jobs.

• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. • Remove keys or wrenches before connecting the tool to an air supply, power supply, or turning on the tool. A wrench or key that is left attached to a rotating part of the tool may cause personal injury. • Secure the work with clamps or a vise instead of your hand when practical. This safety precaution allows for proper tool operation using both hands. ⚠CAUTION WELDING HELMET USE AND CARE • Do not force the welding helmet.
• Inspect lens before each use. Pitted or scratched lens plates reduce vision clarity, severely reduce impact protection and should be replaced immediately to prevent injury. • Not for use with laser welding processes. • Inspect the helmet before each use. Do not use if damaged. Replace worn parts before using. • Not for use by children. Store helmet out of the reach of children. ⚠WARNING This product uses non-replaceable lithium batteries.
• Always wear ANSI Z87.1 compliant eye protection along with the welding helmet during use. The front cover lens (front impact resistant plate) CAN BREAK and DOES NOT provide complete protection against flying particles, splash, spray and splatter. • Inspect lens before each use. 2. Select the shade level. Before welding, carefully read through the Shade Guide Table below and adjust the lens. a) Verify the welding process. b) Check the arc current on your equipment (from 0.5—500 amps). c) Choose the correct shade (Din number) below and adjust the helmet before welding. Step 4. Adjust the fit of the helmet. 1. Turn the headband until the adjustable knob is in the rear position.
2. To adjust the distance between the helmet and your face, loosen the knob on the headband and move the block nut in or out. • Move the block nut out and the helmet will be further from your face. • Move the block nut in and the helmet will be closer to your face. 3. To adjust the overhand band to one of the custom fit positions for proper helmet depth, rotate the dial on the back of the headband. • Press the spring-activated dial on the headband and turn left to loosen.
• Clean the helmet by wiping it with a soft cloth. Clean cartridge surfaces regularly. Do not use strong cleaning solutions. Clean sensors and solar cells with a damp cloth with methylated spirit (denatured alcohol) and a clean, lint-free cloth. Wipe dry with a separate clean, lint-free cloth. • Replace the front cover lens and inner cover lens if they are cracked, scratched, dirty, or pitted.
