Intended Use The Ironton Electric Chainsaw Sharpener is designed to sharpen most types of chainsaw chains. unit is equipped with an electrical cord that has an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug MUST be plugged into a matching receptacle that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with ALL local codes and ordinances. DO NOT MODIFY THE PROVIDED PLUG. If it will not fit the receptacle, have the proper receptacle installed by a qualified electrician.
USE A PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in loss of power and cause overheating. Be sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good condition. Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it repaired by a qualified person before using it.
1. Position the sharpener on the mounting surface so that the mounting stop butts up against the vertical edge of the surface. 2. Using the base as a template, mark locations of mounting holes. 3. Drill pilot holes appropriate for the proper hardware (sold separately) at the marked locations. 4. Align mounting holes with pilot holes, and then secure the base with the hardware.

Troubleshooting Use the table below to troubleshoot problems before contacting service personnel or your local dealer. If the problem continues after troubleshooting, call your local dealer for assistance. Failure Possible Cause Cord not connected. Check that cord is plugged in. No power at outlet. Check power at outlet. If outlet is not powered, turn off tool and check circuit breaker. If breaker is tripped, make sure circuit is right capacity for tool and circuit has no other loads.
