Brake Handle (34)
A spring-loaded brake holds the cradle at the desired height. Raise it by cranking the winch wheel. To
lower the cradle, control the winch’s counter-clockwise rotation by grasping the handle and carefully
raising the brake arm to release the brake.
Operating Procedures
To Load a Drywall Panel:
Lock the casters or lower the backstop down. This will ensure the hoist won't roll backward.
Swing open the panel support hooks on the two crossarms. Be sure the cradle is turned so
the support hooks are on the opposite side of the winch wheel.
Extend the crossarm outriggers on the cradle as needed to fully support the length of the
drywall panel.
Pull the tilt pin and tilt the cradle.
Place the panel onto the support hooks and carefully lean it against the crossarms.
If installing the panel on a flat ceiling, tilt the cradle back up to its level position and lock in
place with the tilt pin. If installing the panel on a side wall or a sloped ceiling, leave the cradle
tilted.
Check to see that the panel is secure and balanced.
Unlock the casters and raise the backstop on the base. Carefully roll the hoist close to the
position where the panel will be installed.
When at the appropriate location, apply the caster lock and lower backstop.
To Raise the Cradle:
Lock the casters and lower the backstop to prevent the hoist from rolling after it is in position.
Turn the latch handle counter-clockwise and push the handle to move the latch tongue to the
holes of the telescoping section.
