Metal Drilling
1. Secure the workpiece.
2. Start by drilling slowly to keep the bit from moving away from the start point.
3. Increase the drill speed as the hole is established. Use cutting oil to keep the bit cool.
4. Lock the trigger in the ON position to maintain a constant speed and reduce fatigue.
Wood Drilling
1. Secure the workpiece.
2. Start by drilling slowly to keep the bit from moving away from the start point.
3. Increase the drill speed as the hole is established.
4. To prevent or reduce “tear out” when the bit exits the far side of the work piece, clamp a piece of
scrap material to the back of the work piece.
5. DO NOT lock the trigger in the ON position, as the bit can easily jam in the wood. You should
always be able to stop the motor quickly.
Note:
Once you finish drilling, you can remove bits by switching the Forward/Reverse switch to the reverse
direction.
