Using Font Dictionaries
As stated above, it is recommended to use the Training Mode combined with a Font Dictionary, in
order to store the training results permanently.
To create a new Dictionary:
 Enable Training mode as explained above.
 Click Training > New Dictionary.
 Process your document, go through Training Mode (explained below) and Save your
document.
 Click Training again and now select Save Dictionary.
 Name the Dictionary and save it in a location of your choice.
Note: Font Dictionaries are limited to 500 shapes. You are recommended to create
separate dictionaries for specific applications.
To open an existing Dictionary:
 Click Training.
 Click Open Dictionary.
 Browse for your Dictionary file and click Open.
Using Training Mode
 Enable Training mode as explained above.
 Scan or Open your document and click Save.
 At the end of the recognition, Readiris enters the Training Mode.
The characters the recognition system isn't sure of are displayed.
If the results are correct:
 Click the Learn button to save the result as sure.
If you are not using a Font Dictionary, the training results are temporarily
stored in the computer memory, for the duration of the recognition. When
you scan a new document, you will have to go through the same steps again.
