Installing Software Updates
You can nd detailed information about how to download and install software
updates in the iRex Companion Software chapter. But to start, you will need:
a computer with an active Internet connection Ì
a mini USB cable Ì
a valid MyiRex account Ì
Network Services
iDS (iRex Delivery Service)
iDS is a service that iRex uses to deliver software updates, subscriptions, and
other information to your device. In order to participate, you need to have an
active MyiRex account. If an account was not created for you by your provider,
you can go to https://myirex.irexnet.com or use the included iRex Companion
Software and click on the Inbox tab to create one.
Subscriptions
By using the iDS, iRex is able to deliver a variety of subscriptions,
such as newspapers, to your device. Please see the iRex website
www.irextechnologies.com for more information about subscriptions.
Downloading and Creating Content
e-Books – There are lots of great places you can download content
for your device from. You can nd a list of e-Book retailers at
http://www.irextechnologies.com/list_content.
HTML – You can also save most web pages in HTML format and view them on
the device.
PDF Printer – Another option is to install the included PDF Software on your
computer and print or convert your documents to PDF format.
