SENSINGMETHODOLOGY
IPSVehicleDetectionSensorsusemultiplesensingelementstoproducemaximumsensor
sensitivity.Aferrousobject,suchasavehicle’sengineblock,altersthelocalmagneticfield
surroundingthesensor.Asacarpullsintoaparkingspace,thesensordetectsthechangein
themagneticfieldandrelaystheinformationtotheIPSparkingmeter.Thesensorcanalsobe
finetunetoregisteramovementofavehicleinaspecificspaceincreasingaccuracyandmaking
datareceivedmorevaluable.
INSTALLATION
Forbestperformance,sensorsareinstalledbelowgrade,typically23inchesbelowthe
surface
withtheloopantennaandopticsabovegradeorstreetleveltobeabletodetect
vehicles.
Forthemostaccurateresults,sensorsareinstalledinthegroundundertheareawherethe
transmissionandengineofthecarisexpectedtobe.
