System 1738

PVC Flue Gas Venting (FGV) is a system offering that is third

party certified to UL 1738 in accordance with the NPFA 54 and IFGC United

States Model Codes. System 1738 PVC pipe and fittings are black in color,

certified for Category II and IV venting systems and offer a 10-year limited

warranty. Each length of vent pipe is uniquely marked with dual print lines and

each length includes a special orange warning label in accordance with UL

1738. Every PVC vent fitting includes a certification label indicating its venting

category, the standard it is certified to, and maximum temperature rating.

The System 1738 PVC product offering is complete with cements and primers,

which are an integral part of the “certified system”. Substitutions shall not be

made for any component of a System 1738 PVC system; this includes pipe,

fittings, terminations, cement and primer. Substitution of a component will

void product warranty and UL 1738 system certification. System 1738 venting

shall be installed in accordance with the certified System 1738 Installation

Methods Guide (available at system1738.com), the appliance manufacturer’s

installation instructions and the local building code or as permited by the local

regulatory authority. In the event of conflicting installation instructions, the

most restrictive requirement shall apply.
