• Battery Protection: Inline 30 Amp fuse for overcharge current
protection.
• Tester Output: Max output to trailer 30Amps
Manufacturers suggested replacement: YUASA#YTX14 or equivalent.
SET-UP
1. Place the tester on a at level surface.
2. Chock trailer wheels to avoid rolling.
3. Use the supplied battery charger to fully charge the internal battery
of the tester. It may take up to 12 hours to charge a fully drained
battery. In the absence of a fully charged battery, use the supplied
battery clip adapters to attach to an external battery source. 12V DC
batteries only!
4. CHOOSING AN EXTERNAL BATTERY
(If internal batteries are not in use):
• Battery must be clean and leak free.
• Any 12-Volt battery size or source may be used.
• Be sure to tighten any connectors properly before turning on the
SMART MUTT®.
• Follow manufacturer’s charging instructions when charging
external batteries.
NOTE: The internal battery duration depends upon the trailers current
load and the length of testing. Internal batteries are only meant for short
duration testing when no other power source is available (example: road-
side testing). For in-shop use, attach the supplied external cable to any
12V/DC car battery.
