In tolerance: all listed positioning parameters are within tolerance, also
indicated by the green background of the status indication.
Out of tolerance: at least one of the listed positioning parameters is out of
tolerance, also indicated by the orange background of the status indication.
Note: Should you want to perform setup with one or more positioning
parameters out of tolerance, you can do so but you will be prompted to sign an
acknowledgment first.
Not confirmed: the position has not been confirmed yet using the wireless
hand-pendant or the remote positioning controls.
Confirmed: the listed positioning parameters have been implemented in the
treatment room using the wireless hand-pendant or the remote positioning
controls, and the position has then been confirmed.
Note: The positioning parameters can be the result of a Manual motion or a
correction from the PPVS, not necessarily the exact values as received from the
plan.
No proximity: verification by the proximity control software acknowledges that
no device proximity hazard exists.
No collision: variations in PPS load cell readings are below the allowed limits.
Alignment devices retracted: the green check mark appears only if both flat
panels have been retracted.
Interpreting Positioning Values
Patient alignment is performed in the Treatment Room using the PPS, wireless hand-
pendant or remote positioning controls, and the PPVS software, among others. For
detailed information on how to align a patient in the Gantry Treatment Room, refer to
Chapter 49, “Aligning a Patient in the GTR”.
The E
QUIPMENT PREPARATION SCREEN (for setup beams) and the PMS INTERFACE
PANEL (PMS = Positioning Management System) of the EQUIPMENT PREPARATION
SCREEN (for treatment beams) display values for various positioning parameters.
These screens appear on a monitor in the Treatment Control Room and on both
monitors aside from the gantry in the Gantry Treatment Room. The monitors aside
from the gantry display the positioning parameters only.
Note: The appearance of the screens on these monitors may be slightly different;
the displayed information, however, is identical.
