Using QA Features of adaPT prescribe
In adaPTprescribe, a distinction is made between different kinds of patients, plans,
and plan intents, as follows:
As illustrated in Table 30-1:
 CLINICAL plans may have a CURATIVE, PALLIATIVE, PROPHYLACTIC or
VERIFICATION plan intent and can only belong to clinical patients.
 MACHINE_QA plans have a MACHINE_QA plan intent and can only belong to
QA patients. It is forbidden to have a MACHINE_QA plan in a clinical patient.
In adaPTprescribe, QA patients, plans with MACHINE_QA and VERIFICATION intent
are displayed in red. QA patients are virtual patients used for QA purposes only.
QA patients, MACHINE_QA plans and beams belonging to MACHINE_QA plans are
mainly managed as clinical patients, plans and beams belonging to CLINICAL plans.
However, any such patients, plans and beams offer you some additional features
designed for you to be able to perform the QA tasks required in your proton therapy
center. These features, particular to this kind of patients, plans and beams, are
explained in detail in this chapter.
