In addition to those features, from the beam details panel of beams belonging to
MACHINE_QA plans it is possible to:
Edit layer and spot details of PBS beams using the LAYER EDITING SCREEN.
Import PLD (PBS Layer Definition) files to create new PBS beams.
Note: The two options above are only possible for PBS beams belonging to a plan
with plan intent ‘MACHINE_QA’.
Note: Once a beam is baselined it is no longer possible to edit the corresponding
layer and spot information.
Note: For PBS beams that do not belong to a plan with plan intent ‘MACHINE_QA’,
it is possible to view the layer and spot information, but not to edit it.

Beam Parameters Not Valid
Note: Layer details are specific to the Pencil Beam Scanning treatment mode. The
L
AYER EDITING SCREEN is only available for Pencil Beam Scanning.
Important After each modification of layer or spot information, a translation check
against the delivery machine capabilities (i.e. Scanalgo) is performed to
ensure that the modification is valid. If it is not (the chosen beam
parameters may be found to be ‘undeliverable’), a notification message
appears (Beam parameters not valid) and the
Error Msg button is
enabled to see the detail of the error.
If the user keeps on modifying the layer or spot without correcting the
error, the notification message is NOT shown again but the
Error Msg
button is still enabled to show the problem.
However, if the user corrects the error, a notification message appears
(
Beam parameters valid) and the Error Msg button is disabled.
