The Docking Principle
Prior to treatment, the patient is placed on a docking device (also called patient
support device) such as a bed that is capable of being attached (also called docked)
to the PPS.

CAUTION Using the long couch extension with the Patient Positioning System
(PPS) for vertex fields in a Gantry Treatment Room (GTR) is not possible
because of a mechanical interference between the couch and the
nozzle.
In order to avoid the risk of collisions, a short table-top must be used.
