3. Get to know SBV System Series
Data type Description
Communication
direction
Safe TARGET DATA
l Current distance and angle of the targets detected by each sensor.
For each detection field of each sensor, only the closest target to
the sensor is considered.
from the control
unit
Unsafe DIAGNOSTIC DATA
ISC-B01 control unit:
l internal status with an extended description of the error condition
SBV-01 sensor:
l internal status with an extended description of the error condition
from the control
unit
Unsafe SYSTEMSTATUSANDTARGET DATA from the control
unit
3.6 Modbus communication
3.6.1 Modbus support
The Modbus communication uses the Ethernet port (Modbus TCP) and consequently is only available for ISC-B01
and ISC-02 control units.
3.6.2 Modbus communication enabling
In the Inxpect Safety application, click on Settings > Modbus Parameters > ON to enable the feature.
Within the Ethernet network, the control unit acts like a server. The client must send requests to the IP address
of the server on the Modbus listening port (default port is 502).
To show and change the address and the port, click on Settings > Network Parameters and Settings > Modbus
Parameters.
3.6.3 Data exchanged through Modbus
The following table details the data exchanged through the Modbus communication:
Data type Description
Communication
direction
Unsafe SYSTEM STATUS DATA
ISC-B01 or ISC-02 control unit:
l internal status
l status of each of the four outputs
l status of each of the two inputs
SBV-01 sensor:
l status of each detection field (target detected or not) or error status
l muting status
from the control
unit
Unsafe DYNAMIC CONFIGURATION STATUS
l ID of the dynamic configuration currently active
l signature (CRC32) of the dynamic configuration ID currently active
from the control
unit
