The teletext or videotext feature familiar from analogue TV programmes is also
broadcasted on many digital TV programmes. A digital receiver is equipped to
decode the teletext signal internally, and to display it on the TV screen. In the
Now/Next EPG, a sign will be displayed in case the program contains
videotext. Press the “Teletext” key (2) to display the teletext of the program
currently being watching. The teletext will be displayed as an overlay on the
screen over the current TV image (see picture 45).
The transparency of the teletext depends of the “OSD Transparency” settings
of the user preferences (see chapter User preference).
In order to view a speci c page of teletext, use the numeric keys 0-9, on your
remote control, to enter the three-digit page number.
The receiver is capable to store a large number of teletext pages in a
temporary memory that reduces waiting time when calling up a new page.
Enter a number “100“ at any time to return to the home page of the teletext pages.
You may use the directional “Up” and “Down” keys to page quickly through the complete teletext section of a particular TV program. To
exit from videotext mode, press “Teletext” key (2) or “Exit” key (22).
6. Alternate Audio Channels and Subtitles
Some TV broadcasters provide several audio channels or subtitles information, carrying commentary in various European languages,
to accompany the TV image.
In the Now/Next EPG, a sign will be displayed in case the program
contains more than one audio channel; also a sign will be displayed
in case the program contains subtitles. In case the program contains AC3
a sign will be displayed in Now/Next EPG (see chapter Program guide
(EPG)).
To use these features, press the ’’Audio/Subtitles” key (29) on your remote
control. All available audio channels will now be displayed in a list on the
screen as well as a list of subtitling languages (see picture 46).
Some channels also provide 2 different mono tracks included in one stereo
track, you can switch between these 2 mono tracks by pressing the blue
button on the remote control.
Use the directional “Up” and “Down” keys to select a speci c audio channel
or subtitle, and con rm by pressing the “OK” key (6). Press function “Green” key (9) to toggle between audio and subtitle lists. A
subtitle can be deactivated by choosing the item “none” in the subtitling list. To set a default language and subtitles, see chapter User
preferences.
