• Insert the USB mass storage device into the USB slot (slot 11) on the front panel of the receiver.
• The message “USB – Mounting” will appear at the top of the screen. After it changes to “USB – Init: OK” it is ok to proceed.
• If a compatibility statement appears, press “OK” and proceed to the next step.
• Select Software Update and press “OK.” Press the green button on the remote for “Yes” to start the download and press “Yes”
again to confi rm.
After the fi le has been installed and unpacked, the receiver will update the current software and automatically restart. All user preferences
and channel lists will remain unchanged.
Caution: Be careful not to interrupt the software installation by removing the USB stick, turning off the receiver, or otherwise interrupting
the installation process. If the installation is interrupted by accident, such
as by a power failure, the receiver may not boot up afterwards. If so, you
can recover normal operation by installing new software using the RS232
connection, or by returning the receiver for service.
Note: Installation of a complete software bundle, including boot loader, will
reset all user settings and erase the channel list. The library will remain
unchanged.
4.2. Media manager
The Media Manager is where all of the channel lists and recordings are
organized (see picture 30).
4.2.1. Library
You can open the Library using the “Menu” key (4) + select “Media Manager”
+ select “Library” option or by pressing the “Library” key (5) on the remote
control.
Picture 31 shows the Library interface. In the table, you can see the names of
the fi les that are on the hard disk or external USB device. On the right side,
there is a preview picture and at the bottom the user can see all available
commands.
In the left column, you will see icons for JPG and MP3 fi les. For scrambled
recordings a “$” will be displayed and for unscrambled recordings, the fi eld
will be empty.
4.2.1.1. File names and rename a file
The name of the fi le (recording) is automatically generated, based on the
information in the EPG. The format is: EPG content + dot + the name of the
program + dot + two digits divided by a dot. The fi rst digit is increased if a fi le
with the same name already exists (if a recording with the same fi le name is
present). The second digit is increased when the recorded fi le have been divided, due to changes of the status during transmission of
the program (scrambled to not scrambled, etc.) If there are no fi les with the same name, the last 2 digits will be 0.0.
If you use the “Time Shift” option, pressing the “Pause/Play” key (26) while watching a live program, a fi le with name “Time Shift” is
automatically generated in the library list. This fi le is temporary and will be replaced with a new one every time you use the “Time Shift”
option. If you would like to keep the time shift fi le, you must rename it or move it to a different folder.
To rename a fi le, select the fi le in the library list using the navigation keys
“Up” and “Down”. Then press the “Yellow” function key (25) and enter the new
name with the alpha-numeric keys 0-9. Press the “OK” key (6) to accept the
changes.
4.2.1.2. Play a file
To play a fi le, select the fi le in the library list, using navigation keys “Up”
and “Down”, then press the “Pause/Play” key (26) or “OK” key (6). At the
beginning of the play mode, the info bar will appear at the bottom of the
screen, showing the available commands. The info bar will disappear after
a few seconds, but can be displayed again at any time by pressing the “OK”
key during playback.
