SECTION 8—SUSPENSION
WARNING
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and before use, make sure all attaching hardware is
tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
NOTE:ThefollowingproceduresareforwheelchairswiththesuspensionoptionONLY.
Elastomers and Suspension
NOTE:Theperformanceofthewheelchairwillbeaffectedifelastomersarenotthesameonbothsidesofthewheelchair.
Replacing Rear Elastomers
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 8.1onpage59.
1. Useanallenwrenchtoholdtheouterallenscrew.
2. Whileholdingtheouterallenscrewinposition,removetheinnerallenscrewfromthepivotpin.
3. Usetheallenwrenchtopushthepivotpinwithouterallenscrewoutof
themountinghole.
4. Removetheexistingelastomer.
5. Positionthenewelastomerbetweentherecessintheaxlebracketandtherecessinthesu spensionbase.
6. Compressandholdtheelastomerbetweentheaxlebracketandthesuspensionbase.
7. Insertthepivotpinintothemountinghole.
8. Installtheouterallenscrewintothe
pivotpin.
9. Useanallenwrenchtoholdtheouterallenscrewinposition.
10. Whileholdingtheouterallenscrew,installtheinnerallenscrewintothepivotpin.Tightensecurely.
