WARNING
NEVER position the camber inserts in the axle tube with more than 3-inches (7.62 cm) (12 index-
ing marks showing) of the camber insert outside of the axle tube. The camber inserts will not be
securely tightened in the axle tube. Possible injury to the user and/or damage to the wheelchair
may occur.
6. Positionthecamberinserttothedesiredposition.Makesurethereisnomorethan3inches(7.62cm)(12indexingmarks)
ofthecamberinsertsoutsideoftheaxletube.
7. Slidetheindexingringonthecamberinsertuntilitisflushwiththecamberclamp.
NOTE:Beforeusingthewheelchair,
makesurebothcamberinsertsaresettothesameindexingmark.Thiswillmakesurethedistance
betweentherearwheelandthewheelchairisthesameonbothsides.
8. Closethecamberclamp.RefertoOpening/ClosingCamberClamps
onpage 34.
9. RepeatSTEPS1‐8foroppositesideofwheelchair.
10. Reinstallrearwheeltothewheelchair.RefertoRemoving/InstallingRearWheels
onpage 32.
11. Adjusttoein/toeoutofwheelchair.RefertoAdjustingToeIn/ToeOut
onpage 37.
Determining Toe In/Toe Out
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE 5.8onpage36.
1. Inflateallpneumatictyrestorecommendedtyrepressures(listedonthesidewallofthetyre).
2. Measurethedistancebetweenthecenterlinesattherear andfrontoftherearwheelsatapproximately12inches(30.48
cm)fromtheground/floor(FIGURE 5.8).
NOTE:For
optimumaccuracy,performSTEP2withthewheelchairoccupied.
3. Determinedifferencebetweentwomeasurements.Ifdifferencebetweenthetwomeasurementsisgreaterthan1/2‐inch
(1.27cm)(0+1/4‐inch(.63cm)formaximumrollability),oneoftwoconditionsexists:
•IfthebackcenterlinemeasurementoftherearwheelsisSMALLER
thanthefrontcenterlinemeasurementofthe
rearwheels,aTOE‐OUTconditionexists(FIGURE 5.8).
•IfthebackcenterlinemeasurementoftherearwheelsisLARGERthanthefrontcenterlinemeasurementoftherear
wheels,aTOE‐INconditionexists(FIGURE 5.8).
4. Ifthedi fferencebetweenthemeasurementsisgreaterthan1/2‐
inch(1.27cm),correctthetoe‐in/toe‐outcondition.Refer
