2.4TravelingwiththeConcentrator
BeforeTraveling
1.Contactyourtravelcarrierand/ortourguideaboutyourtravel
plansandprovideinformationaboutyourintenttouseaportable
oxygenconcentratorduringyourtravels.Thecarrierwillletyou
knowifyouwillbepermittedtouseyourconcentratorduring
yourtravelandifthereareanyrestrictionsforuse.
Ifyouarenotpermittedtouseyourconcentratoron
thecarrierofchoiceandstillwanttotakeitwithyou:
•Carryitandanysupplementalbatteriesonboard
withyou.
•Ensuretheunitisturnedoff.
•Stowitproperlyforthetrip.
•DONOTplacetheconcentratororany
supplementalbatteriesincheckedbaggage.
2.Contactthecarriertoseeiftheyhaveseatswithapower
outletthatyoucanusetopowertheconcentratorduring
travel.Ifapoweroutletisnotavailable,besuretobringenough
supplementalbatteriestolast150%ofthetraveltime.
Theremaybeunexpecteddelaysbeyondscheduled
traveltimes.Carryyourpoweradapterswithyouso
youcanrechargebatteriesbeforeandafterthetrip.
3.Chargetheinstalledbatteryoftheconcentratorandany
supplementalbatteriesfullybeforeyoudepart,thusextending
theoperatingtimeoftheconcentratorduringtravel.Referto
ChargingtheBattery(s)inSetup.
4.Ensuretheunitisfreeofallgrease,oil,orotherpetroleum
productsandthattheunitisingoodworkingorder,isfreeof
damage,andtheairfilterisclean.RefertothePreventative
MaintenanceChecklistinMaintenance.
5.Contactyouroxygensuppliertomakearrangementsifyouneed
tohavebackupoxygenatyourdestination.
TravelingByAir
ArrivingattheAirport
1.Allowthesecurityagenttoinspectyourconcentrator,evenif
youareusingit,whengoingthroughthesecuritycheckpoint.
Theyarerequiredtoallowyoutotravelthroughthe
checkpointwithyourconcentrator,buttheyMUST
inspectitforsecurityreasons.
2.UseyourACpoweradapterwhileyouareintheairport,if
possible.Thiswillkeepthebattery(s)atfullchargeandgiveyou
themostbatterypoweredoperatingtimeontheaircraft.
BoardingthePlane
Youarenotpermittedtositinanexitrowifyouplantouse
yourconcentratoratanytimeduringtheflight.
1.Ifyouplanonusingtheconcentratortheentiretimeyouareon
theplane,verifythatyourconcentratordoesnotblockaccessto
anemergencyexitoraisleway.Ifitdoes,requestaseatchange.
2.Inorderfortheflightcrewtoensurethesafetyofyouandall
oftheotherpassengersontheflight,allowthemtoinspectthe
concentratortoconfirmthatitisFAAapprovedforuseon
theflight.
