Prevent Young Children From Drowning:
• Keepunsupervisedchildrenfromaccessingthepoolbyinstallingfencingorapprovedbarrieraroundall
sides of pool. State or local laws or codes may require fencing or other approved barriers. Check state
or local laws and codes before setting up pool. Refer to the list of barrier recommendations and guidelines
asdescribedinCPSCPublicationNo.362.“SafetyBarrierGuidelineforHomePools”foundat
www.poolsafely.gov.
• Drowningoccurssilentlyandquickly.Assignanadulttosupervisepoolandwearprovidedwaterwatcher
tag.
• Keepchildreninyourdirectsightwhentheyareinornearpool.Poolpresentsadrowninghazardeven
duringllinganddrainingofthepool.Maintainconstantsupervisionofchildrenanddonotremoveany
safety barriers until the pool is completely empty and stowed away.
• Whensearchingforamissingchild,checkthepoolrst,evenifyouthinkyourchildisinthehouse.
Prevent Young Children From Gaining Access to Pool:
• Toddlerscanclimbladderandgetintopool.Beforeleavingpoolarea,removeladderorothermeansof
access, and safely store away from pool.
• Whenleavingthepool,removeoatsandtoysfromthepoolthatmightattractachild.
• Positionfurniture(forexample,tables,chairs)awayfrompoolsothatchildrencannotclimbonitto
gain access to the pool.
• Ifalterpumpisincludedwiththepool,locatepumpsandltersinsuchawaythatchildrencannotclimb
on them and gain access to the pool.
Electrocution Risk:
• Keepallelectricallines,radios,speakersandotherelectricalappliancesawayfromthepool.
• Donotplacepoolnearorunderoverheadelectricallines.
Suction Risk:
• Ifalterpumpisincludedwiththepool,replacementpumpshallneverexceedthemaximumowrate
markedonthesuctiontting.
Be Prepared to Respond to an Emergency:
•
Keepaworkingphoneandalistofemergencynumbersnearthepool.
•
Becomecertiedincardiopulmonaryresuscitation(CPR)soyoucanrespondtoanemergency.Intheevent
of an emergency, immediate use of CPR can make a life-saving difference.

Closely watch children who are in or near this pool.

Diving or jumping may result in broken neck, paralysis, permanent injury or death.

If drain or suction outlet cover is missing or broken, your hair, body and jewelry can get sucked into
drain. You could be held underwater and drown! Do not use the pool if drain or suction outlet cover is
missing or broken.
• Emptypoolorpreventaccesswhennotinuse.Storetheemptypoolinsuchawaythatitdoesnot
collect water from rain or any other source.
