IMPORTANT SAFETY RULES
Read and follow all safety information and instructions.
Keep for future reference.
Failure to follow these warnings and instructions can result in
serious injury or death to users, especially children.
• Children,especiallychildrenyoungerthanfiveyears,areathighriskofdrowning.
• Drowningoccurssilentlyandquicklyandcanoccurinaslittleas2in.(5cm)ofwater.
• Keepchildreninyourdirectsight,stayclose,andactivelysupervisethemwhentheyare
inornearthispoolandwhenyouarefillingandemptyingthispool.
• Whensearchingforamissingchild,checkthepoolfirst,evenifchildisthoughttobein
the house.
• Emptypoolcompletelyaftereachuseandstoretheemptypoolinsuchawaythatitdoes
notcollectwaterfromrainoranyothersource.

Prevent Drowning
Drowning Risk:
• Keepunsupervisedchildrenfromaccessingthepoolbyinstallingfencingorotherapproved
barrieraroundallsidesofpools.Stateorlocallawsorcodesmayrequirefencingorother
approvedbarriers.Checkstateorlocallawsandcodesbeforesettinguppool.Refertothe
listofbarrierrecommendationsandguidelinesasdescribedinCPSCPublicationNo.362.
• Removepoolladdersbeforeleavingthepool.Childrenasyoungas2yearshaveclimbed
upladdersandintopoolsanddrowned.
• Donotleavetoysinsidepoolwhenfinishedusing,sincetoysandsimilaritemsmightattract
achildtothepool.
• Positionfurniture(forexample,tables,chairs)awayfrompoolandsothatchildrencannot
climbonittogainaccesstothepool.
• Ifafilterpumpisincludedwiththepool,locatepumpsandfiltersinsuchawaythatchildren
cannotclimbonthemandgainaccesstothepool.
Diving Risk:
• Donotdiveintothispool.Divingintoshallowwatercanresultinbrokenneck,paralysis,
or death.
Electrocution Risk:
• Keepallelectricallines,radios,speakersandotherelectricalappliancesawayfromthepool.
• Donotplacepoolnearorunderoverheadelectricallines.
Suction Risk:
• Ifadrainorsuctionoutletcoverismissingorbroken,donotusethepool.Suctioncan
causebodypartentrapment,hairandjewelryentanglement,evisceration,ordrowning.
Repairorreplacethedrainorsuctionoutletcoverbeforeallowingthepooltobeused.
First Aid:
• Keepaworkingphoneandalistofemergencynumbersnearthepool.
• Becomecertifiedincardiopulmonaryresuscitation(CPR).Intheeventofanemergency,
immediateuseofCPRcanmakealife-savingdifference.
Select an outdoor location for the pool with the following in mind:
1. Theareawherethepoolistobesetupmustbeabsolutely flat and level. Do notsetup
thepoolonaslopeorinclinedsurface.
2. Thegroundsurfacemustbecompactedandfirmenoughtowithstandthepressureand
weightofafullysetuppool.Do Notsetupthepoolonmud,sand,softorloosesoil
condition,deck,platform,concrete,asphaltoranyotherhardsurfaces.
3. Thepoolrequiresatleast4feetofspaceallaroundpoolfromobjectsthatachildcould
climbontogainaccesstothepool.
4. Poolwillkillthegrass.Splashoutcoulddamagevegetation.Certaintypesofgrasssuchas
St.AugustineandBermuda,maygrowthroughtheliner.
5. Theareashallalsofacilitatedrainageofthepoolwateraftereachuseand/orforlongterm
poolstorage.
