Changing Configuration Settings Using SmartSystems
Foundation
You can use the SmartSystems console to change configuration
settings on your printer. The PB22/PB32 ships with the
SmartSystems client loaded on it. The console is part of
SmartSystems Foundation and is available from the Intermec web
site. To download SmartSystems Foundation, go to
www.intermec.com/products/smrtsysfoundation/index.aspx.
Changing the Printer Language
The following printer languages are available on the PB22 and PB32
printers:
• Fingerprint
• IPL
• ESC/P
• DSim
• ZSim
The most frequently used methods of changing languages are by
using HyperTerminal and through the display settings. These
methods are described below.
To change the printer language using the display settings
• Press the Setup button to the change command language
function. See Appendix C for the Fingerprint and IPL menu trees.
To change the printer language using Fingerprint and HyperTerminal
1 Select Start > Accessories> Communications > Hyperterminal
to start HyperTerminal.
2 Send the enable administrator rights command:
run “su -p pass admin
3 Send the run command to change the printer language:
setlanguage IPL -r
To change the printer language using IPL and HyperTerminal
1 Select Start > Accessories> Communications > Hyperterminal
to start HyperTerminal.
