Replacing the Bottom Cover
To replace the bottom cover, you need the following tools:
• #1 Phillips screwdriver
• Torque screwdriver
You also need the following parts:
• Bottom cover:
• Standard bottom cover (scan engine or PDF 417 scan engine) (P/N 069456-001)
• Multi-scanner bottom cover (scan engine, PDF 417 scan engine, or E1022
linear imager):
• Multi-scanner bottom cover (P/N 072232-001)
• E1022 scan window (P/N 072340-001)
• Scanner safety label:
• Non-laser safety (P/N 069940-001)
• Laser safety (P/N 069405-001)
• Configuration/Serial Number label
• RF certification label or print on demand set:
• RM 181 Australia (2415 only) (P/N 069409-002)
• RM 181 Euro1 (2415 only) (P/N 069412-002)
• RM 181 France/Mexico (2415 only) (P/N 069414-001)
• RM 181 Japan (2415 only) (P/N 070057-001)
• RM 181 US/Canada (2415 only) (P/N 069408-001)
• RM182 OpenAir, 2126 802.11b, PC24-11-FC/R 802.11b, or 2410 terminal
• Print On Demand Set (P/N 072691-001)
• White Ribbon (P/N 591371-001)
To replace the bottom cover
1. Open the terminal. For help, see “Opening the Terminal” on page 2-4.
Make sure you note the configuration on the serial number label on the bottom
cover.
2. Remove the backup capacitor assembly. See Steps 2 through 6 for “Replacing the
Backup Capacitor” on page 2-30.
