Press I/O to turn on the CK30.
When you turn on the CK30, the screen turns on.
If the screen does not turn on, install a charged
battery.
Check the
battery level.
Press to turn on
the backlight.
Change the contrast.
Change the beep volume.
Press and release the Orange key
and then press and release
to change the contrast.
Scan a bar code.
Point the CK30 at the bar code.
Press the Scan button or pull
the trigger. A red aiming beam
appears near the bar code.
Move the CK30 so the aiming
beam lies across the bar code.
When the CK30 beeps, the bar
code has been scanned.

Press down on the latch
and lift the battery out of
the CK30.
Insert the tabs on the
new battery into the
bottom of the opening.
Press the battery in
place to snap the latch.
Press and release the Green key and then press and
release to change the beep volume.

If the battery is empty, change it.
The backlight makes the screen
easier to see in dark areas.
Depending on the kind of scanner
your CK30 has, you may need to
move the CK30 closer to or farther
from the bar code.
