1. Disconnect power to ﬁxture.

2. Remove wall plate and disconnect existing light switch.

3. Be sure to have neutral, hot, and switch leg in box. If all wires

are not present, additional wiring will be necessary before

installation can be completed. (See Fig. 1)

4. Connect red timer wire to ﬁxture wire and secure with wire

connector. (See Fig. 2)

5. Connect black timer wire to the hot wire in junction box and

secure with wire connector.

6. Connect white timer wire to white wires in junction box and

secure with wire connector.

7. Connect green timer wire to existing ground.

8. Check that all wire connections are secure.

9. Place all wires inside junction box.

10. Fit timer into junction box and install using two (2) mounting

screws (furnished).

11. Reconnect the electrical power.

Setting the Clock

1. Press and hold CLK and press DAY to scroll to current day.

2. Press and hold CLK and press HOUR to scroll to current hour.

3. Press and hold CLK and press MIN to scroll to current minute.

Setting Programs

1. Press PROG. The 1 ON (Event 1 ON) screen appears.

2. Press DAY to scroll to the day(s) for the event to turn ON.

3. Press HOUR and MIN to set ON time for the event.

4. Press PROG. The 1 OFF (Event 1 OFF) screen appears.

5. Repeat Steps 2-3 to set the OFF time for Event 1.

6. Repeat procedure to set additional ON/OFF events.

NOTE: Do not set events within 30 minutes or less of each other if using the Random Mode.

The Random Mode interval is ± 15 minutes from the programmed times, and programs set too

close together may overlap one another.

7. When all events are set, press CLK to return to time screen.

Clearing (Deleting) an Event

1. Press PROG to scroll to the setting you want to clear.

2. Press and hold MODE and press PROG to clear the setting.

3. Press CLK to return to the time of day screen.

Operating the Time Switch

Press MODE to set Automatic, Random or Manual mode.

NOTE: For the time switch to run programmed events, it must be set to AUTO or RDM

mode.

NOTE: After setting events, the timer may turn on the load if you press the MODE button.

• AUTO (Automatic) mode runs all events automatically, according to the schedule you have

set.

• RDM (Random) mode is a security feature in which ON and OFF times randomly differ

± 15 minutes from the programmed times, creating a more lived-in look.

• MANUAL mode turns ON and OFF only when the user presses the ON or OFF button.

Overriding Timer Settings

The ON or OFF buttons override the current programmed events.

To override the current program (either ON or OFF), press the ON or OFF button.

NOTE: If the timer is not in “Manual” mode, it will obey the next programmed event.

This allows the user to manually turn a light on and allow the program to shut the

light back off at a preset time.

Resetting the Timer

In case of an operational failure of the timer, press the RESET button to clear all

settings and restart.

LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY

If within the warranty period speciﬁed, this product fails due to a defect in material or workmanship,

Intermatic Incorporated will repair or replace it, at its sole option, free of charge. This warranty is

extended to the original household purchaser only and is not transferable. This warranty does not apply

to: (a) damage to units caused by accident, dropping or abuse in handling, acts of God or any negligent

use; (b) units which have been subject to unauthorized repair, opened, taken apart or otherwise modi-

ﬁed; (c) units not used in accordance with instructions; (d) damages exceeding the cost of the product;

(e) sealed lamps and/or lamp bulbs, LED’s and batteries; (f) the ﬁnish on any portion of the product,

such as surface and/or weathering, as this is considered normal wear and tear; (g) transit damage,

initial installation costs, removal costs, or reinstallation costs.

NESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE HEREBY MODIFIED TO EXIST ONLY AS CONTAINED IN

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, AND SHALL BE OF THE SAME DURATION AS THE WARRANTY PERIOD

Installation and User Instructions

MODEL IW505K

• Turn off power at circuit breaker and test that power is off before wiring.

• Follow local electrical codes during installation.

• Connect to copper conductors only.

• No user-serviceable parts.

• The internal battery requires up to 30 minutes to charge. If the battery is not charged and power

is lost, schedule information may have to be re-conﬁgured.

1. Couper l’alimentation électrique du luminaire.

2. Déposer la plaque murale et débrancher l’interrupteur

d’éclairage existant.

3. Vériﬁer qu’il y a bien les ﬁls de phase, de neutre et

d’interrupteur dans la boîte. S’il n’y a pas tous les ﬁls, il peut

être nécessaire de tirer des câbles supplémentaires avant de

pouvoir effectuer l’installation (voir Fig. 1).

4. Raccorder le ﬁl rouge de la minuterie au ﬁl du luminaire à

l’aide d’une marrette (voir Fig. 2).

5. Raccorder le ﬁl noir de la minuterie au ﬁl de phase dans la

boîte de dérivation à l’aide d’une marrette.

6. Raccorder le ﬁl blanc de la minuterie aux ﬁls blancs dans la boîte de

dérivation à l’aide d’une marrette.

7. Raccorder le ﬁl vert de la minuterie à une terre existante.

8. Vériﬁer que tous les ﬁls sont solidement raccordés.

9. Placer tous les ﬁls à l’intérieur de la boîte de dérivation.

10. Placer la minuterie dans la boîte de dérivation et l’attacher à l’aide

de deux (2) vis de ﬁxation fournies.

11. Rétablir l’alimentation électrique.

Régler l’horloge

1. Tenir la touche CLK enfoncée et appuyer sur DAY pour avancer jusqu’au jour courant.

2. Tenir la touche CLK enfoncée et appuyer sur HOUR pour avancer jusqu’à l’heure courante.

3. Tenir la touche CLK enfoncée et appuyer sur MIN pour avancer jusqu’à la minute courante.

Conﬁgurer les programmes

1. Appuyer sur PROG. L’écran 1 ON (événement 1 Marche) s’afﬁche.

2. Appuyer sur DAY pour avancer jusqu’au(x) jour(s) où l’événement ON doit avoir lieu.

3. Appuyer sur HOUR et MIN pour régler l’heure de l’événement ON.

4. Appuyer sur PROG. L’écran 1 OFF (événement 1 Arrêt) s’afﬁche.

5. Répéter les étapes 2 et 3 pour régler l’heure d’arrêt (OFF) de l’évènement 1.

6. Répéter cette procédure pour déﬁnir des événements ON/OFF supplémentaires.

REMARQUE: Ne pas conﬁgurer des événements à 30 minutes ou moins les uns des autres si le

mode aléatoire (RDM) est utilisé. L’intervalle du mode aléatoire est de ± 15 minutes par rapport aux

heures programmées et des programmes conﬁgurés trop près l’un de l’autre peuvent se recouvrir.

7. Une fois tous les événements conﬁgurés, appuyer sur CLK pour retourner à l’écran de l’heure.

Effacer (supprimer) un événement

1. Appuyer sur PROG pour avancer jusqu’au paramètre à supprimer.

2. Tenir la touche MODE enfoncée et appuyer sur PROG pour supprimer le paramètre.

3. Appuyer sur CLK pour retourner à l’écran de l’heure de la journée.

Utiliser la minuterie

Appuyer sur MODE pour mettre en mode automatique, aléatoire ou manuel.

REMARQUE: Pour que la minuterie exécute les évènements programmés, elle doit être en

mode AUTO (automatique) ou RDM (aléatoire).

REMARQUE: Une fois les évènements conﬁgurés, l’appareil contrôlé peut être mis en

marche en appuyant sur le bouton MODE de la minuterie.

• Le mode AUTO (automatique) exécute tous les évènements automatiquement suivant le

calendrier ﬁxé.

• Le mode RDM (aléatoire) offre une fonctionnalité de sécurité par laquelle les heures de

marche et d’arrêt s’écartent de façon aléatoire de ± 15 minutes des heures programmées,

pour créer un effet plus «habité».

• Le mode MANUAL (manuel) commande la marche et l’arrêt uniquement lorsque

l’utilisateur appuie sur les touches ON (marche) et OFF (arrêt).

La batterie interne nécessite jusqu’à 30 minutes pour se recharger. En cas de coupure de courant

alors que la batterie est déchargée, il peut être nécessaire de reprogrammer le calendrier.

Pour exécuter une commande (ON ou OFF) à la place du programme en cours, appuyer sur la touche ON (marche) ou OFF (arrêt).
